Math Tutorial Program
MacDonald Alexander, former Vice President of CCA was the grant writer and founder of this project that started in 2001. Thanks to the original sponsors, JPMorganChase, formerly Chase Manhattan Bank, CitiGroup, and more recently, the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.
CCA is very pleased to acknowledge the partnership of the University of South Florida in providing the venue for this project at no cost to the Association.
Classes are divided into 2 sessions:
Session I: August – December
Session II: January - April
Classes are held on Saturdays from 8:30 am – 12 noon.
Students (Grades 3-12) are provided with individualized instruction in all areas of mathematics with emphasis on maintaining proficiency at their current grade levels. Preparation for the FCAT, SAT and ACT examinations have also been included as part of the tutorial sessions.
Volunteers who are proficient in Math are always welcomed.
